The Fall Literary Society is a five-week literary experience for Christian women who desire to read, learn, and grow together.

Through beautiful stories, thoughtful conversation, and meaningful fellowship, we’ll cultivate richer habits of reading and learning while growing in wisdom and faith.

Together, we’ll spend the fall immersed in beautiful stories and thoughtful ideas as we pursue what is good, true, and beautiful.

Through guided reading, live discussions, workshops and teachings, and ongoing conversation within The Living Bright Collective, you’ll be encouraged in your love for God, challenged to grow in wisdom, and invited to cultivate a life shaped by good and beautiful stories.

Remembering Well: The Art of Keeping a Commonplace Notebook
Learn how to thoughtfully capture and remember the ideas, passages, and beautiful things you encounter in your reading.

When Books Ask Hard Questions: Navigating Challenging Books with Your Children
Learn how to approach difficult or challenging books with wisdom, discernment, and confidence as you read alongside your children.

Throughout Our Time Together

You’ll have opportunities to:

• Participate in ongoing conversations within The Living Bright Collective
• Enjoy weekly riches and beauty subjects
• Reflect on Scripture and the ideas raised by our reading
• Cultivate the habit of keeping a commonplace notebook

You’ll also receive Living Literature: Fall Literary Society, a beautiful digital guide featuing a reading plan, Bible readings, narration prompts, discussion questions, and riches such as:

Art picture study

Our live gatherings will focus on I Capture the Castle, The Giver, and our two workshop topics. Throughout the five weeks, you’ll also have space to discuss Scripture, beauty, and the ideas our reading brings to the surface within The Living Bright Collective.

You’ll be encouraged to keep a commonplace notebook throughout the Society, with dedicated pages provided in your Living Literature guide. Your commonplace notebook will become a place to collect the words, ideas, questions, and beautiful things you want to remember.

For each discussion (9/27, 10/11, 10/25), we will discuss the assigned reading, reflect together on what we're learning and encourage one another as we pursue deeper rhythms of discipleship, learning, and formation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to attend live?

No! All sessions will be recorded and available for later viewing. You do not need to attend live, though we would love to see you there.

Do I need to finish all the reading?

Not at all. The goal is growth, good discussion, and encouragement—not checking every book off a list. We encourage you to join us even if you didn’t finish (or even start!) that week’s reading. Come as you are, participate as you’re able, and enjoy the conversation.

Is this only for homeschool moms?

No. While many participants may be homeschool moms, The Fall Literary Society is for any Christian woman who desires to read, learn, and grow together. Women from various life stages and school choices participate. 

When does The Fall Literary Society begin?

We’ll kick off together on Sunday, September 20 at 8:00 PM CST. No reading is assigned for the kickoff gathering. We’ll use this first evening to introduce the Literary Society, prepare for our time together, and begin cultivating the habits and rhythms we’ll carry throughout the five weeks.

What do I need?

You’ll need a copy of each book:
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
The Giver by Lois Lowry

You may read in whatever format works best for you—physical book, ebook, or audiobook.

Notebooking pages will be included in your Living Literature guide, but you may also wish to keep your own commonplace notebook. This is completely optional.

Upon Purchase

When you enroll in The Fall Literary Society, you’ll receive a digital Welcome Letter with everything you need to know about getting started.

Your Living Literature guide and access to The Living Bright Collective will be delivered digitally before we begin on September 20.

A Note About Digital Access

The Fall Literary Society is a digital experience. No physical products will be shipped or mailed. All course materials, guides, recordings, and resources will be delivered digitally.

Your access to The Living Bright Collective is included for the duration of the Fall Literary Society. And while your membership will end when the Literary Society concludes, we’d love to have you stay and continue reading, learning, and growing with us in The Living Bright Collective.
